CodeWise Certifiers provides consulting building surveying, BCA compliance and fire safety advice for existing buildings throughout NSW. Led by Des Lynch, Registered Building Surveyor – Unrestricted, the practice specialises in complex existing-building matters where the building, historical approvals, fire safety documentation and current compliance requirements need to be investigated and reconciled. A major area of practice is the review and correction of Fire Safety Schedules. CodeWise assists building owners, strata and property managers and their fire safety practitioners where a Fire Safety Schedule is missing, contains incorrect or omitted measures, nominates inappropriate standards of performance or does not correspond with the existing building. The objective is to establish the correct compliance position and provide the supporting technical documentation required for resolution with the relevant authority and for the ongoing AFSS process. Other services include existing-building BCA audits, fire safety upgrade strategies, Council Fire Safety Orders and compliance matters, legacy building assessments including Ordinance 70, change-of-use assessments, fire engineering and performance-solution consultation, and review of completion and certification documentation.
