Our team of credentialed American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) professionals, physicians and legal advisors combines a wealth of knowledge to ensure cost-effective service solutions for our clients. Code & Comply Specialists was founded by Barbara Flynn in 1991 as Health Information Management Services from the FHA Management Corporation. Since 1991, Code and Comply Specialists has provided a full range of HIM consulting, coding, compliance and educational services to over 85 hospitals nationwide. One of the most frequently utilized services is our contract and outsource coding service which began with our highly trained and experienced certified coders traveling to the facilities to code on-site, inpatient, outpatient, and physician encounters. Code & Comply Specialists developed several services over the years to fill the void when a hospital finds itself without qualified managers either as the HIM Department Manager or as the Coding Manager. Our team of experienced and credentialed Registered Health Information Administrators, Registered Health Information Technicians, and Certified Coding Specialists have provided Interim HIM Managers to over a dozen hospitals ranging in size from 25-300 beds. In 2008, when the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program was just starting, Code & Comply Specialists developed a new service designed to assist hospitals with the tracking, review and timely appeal of RAC program payment denials. C&CS added physician and legal advisors to the team to assist with appeals at all levels.
