Coddington Design Information

Since 2005, Coddington Design has partnered with discerning homeowners across the San Francisco Bay Area to create luxury residential spaces that are unmistakably theirs. Founded by Melanie Coddington, our full-service interior design studio works on projects of all scales - from $25M estates and ground-up builds to targeted renovations and by-the-hour design support. Our philosophy is straightforward: exceptional design begins with listening. We bring world-class expertise and uncompromising standards to every project, but we never impose our aesthetic on your home. That's why our portfolio - spanning luxury homes in Palo Alto, Woodside, and San Francisco, along with second residences in Tahoe and Hawaii - looks so diverse. No two projects are the same because no two clients are the same. We design for how you actually live. Beauty and function aren't competing priorities in our work, they're inseparable. Our clients appreciate that we prioritize durability, comfort, and livability alongside aesthetics. Whether it's accommodating kids, pets, or entertaining, we create spaces that perform as well as they photograph. Our work has been featured in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Forbes, and Martha Stewart. The firm has been ranked on the Inc. 5000 and named one of the Top 40 LGBTQ-Owned Businesses by the San Francisco Business Times. But what we're most proud of is our roster of repeat clients - people who come back because they trust us to make the process genuinely enjoyable and to deliver homes they love living in. As a female-led, LGBTQ-owned firm, we're committed to thoughtful collaboration, meticulous attention to detail, and creating spaces where everyone feels they belong. If you're looking for a design partner who will invest in your vision with the same care you do, we'd welcome the conversation.
