Company Overview OUR HISTORIA Our story is the result of two Mexicanos who had a thirst for good quality aguas frescas in the U.S. but could only find sugary juice drinks loaded with sodium, preservatives and coloring instead. Arnulfo Ventura and José L. Domene looked back—muy, muy atrás—to ancient Mesoamerican culture and authentic family tradition, to come up with a deliciosamente refrescante alternative: all-natural, 100% organic agave sweetened aguas frescas! Fast forward a few years at the Stanford Escuela for Business, and Cobá was born. Description ¿QUÉ, QUÉ? The ancient Mayans had a word for “waters stirred by wind.” We felt it made the perfect name for our authentic aguas frescas. Cobá. A drink practically as old as historia itself in Latin America, aguas frescas combine fresh fruits, cereals or seeds with water to make a refreshing, flavorful, thirst-quenching and all-natural beverage. Don’t call it juice. Don’t call it soda. It’s not carbonated. Nor is it loaded with sugar. It’s simply pure agua, lightly flavored with ingredientes naturales rich in antioxidantes, vitaminas and minerales, and naturally sweetened with 100% organic agave nectar.
