Coastella is a world-class, family-friendly and all-inclusive boutique music festival held annually in the grounds of Southwards Car Museum in Otaihanga on the Kāpiti Coast. The festival is a creative showcase for established and emerging local and international musical artists as well as being a community event to celebrate the vibrancy of Kāpiti. Coastella was founded by Gerry Paul and Paul Brown in 2016. Building on the growing success of the first two festivals, the 2018 line-up showcases a diverse range of local and international music from energetic folk and indie rock to Japanese banjo, brass and Balkan madness, promising festival-goers an unmissable day out! With its stellar line up and unique natural setting, Coastella is a chance to enjoy a summer musical discovery in the heart of Kapiti - while sampling food and drink from a large array of food vendors. Volunteers are key to the success of Coastella - in fact in 2017 Coastella won the Rising Star award in the Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards, which celebrate volunteers and community groups for their valuable contribution to society. www.coastella.co.nz
