Coral Reef Productions is dedicated to the preservation of wild coral reefs and the advancement of reef aquariums by offering high-quality, captive-bred corals and the newest innovations in coral life-support equipment. Our company strives to improve the reefs of the world, while helping the home aquarist bring a little of their beauty into the home aquarium without either being negatively impacted. Our background begins and ends with our president and aquaculture specialist, Daniel Smith. With over fifteen years of fish keeping experience, and over six years in the retail aquarium trade, Daniel has the background to really understand the ins and outs of the aquarium hobby. He has successfully kept and propagated numerous corals over the years and has applied that knowledge to the coral aquaculture operation currently underway at Coral Reef Productions. Beginning in 1995, Daniel began experimenting with the NNR/ Jaubert method of filtration. His success with this method led to the creation of the Sand Support System and the introduction of the technique to numerous aquarists across the country. Daniel Smith has a major in Marine Biology from the University of Miami, a leading institution in marine research. He also holds a minor in Chemistry, which has helped him to further investigate the workings of the Sand Support System. Daniel Smith has the qualifications to help fellow aquarists succeed in aquarium keeping, to further the hobby by offering captive-bred coral, and to better the quality of the home and retail aquarium by introducing new concepts in tank filtration.
