Coastal Kayaks Information

The launch of Coastal Kayaks is a “Seagrass Roots” effort to bring kayak design back to its prime purpose - creating great gear that works for everyone. Todays kayaks are full of nifty new gizmos and Lazy-Boy inspired seating systems, but are they delivering the experience you want at a price you can afford? As professional guides and outfitters with decades of experience on the water, we don’t think so. Kayaks have gotten expensive and complicated at one end of the spectrum, and have turned into mass produced junk at the other end. You can either pay $850 for a 12 foot kayak with everything but a blender built in, or $399 for a 12 foot kayak built with every corner cut in every way possible. What happened to the $600 kayak that is fun to paddle every day? We believe that there are enough paddlers out there who just want something that works and works well. That’s our goal: to produce a simple line of well designed kayaks that fit the needs of paddlers of all skill levels and that are fun to paddle every day.
