Fundat el 1944, el BM.Granollers és un dels clubs més antics i llorejats del país. Des dels seus inicis, el club va aconseguir ràpidament un gran nivell competitiu, tant en la modalitat d'handbol a 11 com a 7, de la qual va ser pioner a nivell estatal. Des d'aleshores, ha jugat sempre a la màxima categoria de l'handbol espanyol. La ferma aposta per la pedrera han fet del BM.Granollers un dels clubs més reconeguts a nivell europeu, formant un gran nombre de jugadors i tècnics de primer nivell mundial. Actualment, és l'únic club que té al primer equip masculí i femení simultàniament en la màxima categoria de l'handbol espanyol. Actualmente, es el único club que tiene al primer equipo masculino y femenino simultáneamente en la máxima categoría del balonmano español.
