Bard College at Simon's Rock is the nation's preeminent residential, liberal-arts early college. It enrolls approximately 450 students, nearly all of whom come to Simon's Rock after their sophomore or junior year in high school. It was founded as Simon's Rock College in 1966 by Elizabeth Blodgett Hall and, after becoming part of the Bard College system in 1979, it was known for most of its history as Simon's Rock College of Bard.
The Geneva School is a private, coeducational, college-preparatory Christian classical day school partnering with parents to educate students in grades K4–12. Founded in 1993 by a small group of families committed to an education rooted in Christian faith and to academic excellence so that graudates are prepared for life's challenges and opportunities.
The school has grown from 34 students and five faculty members into one of Central Florida’s leading independent schools. It currently enrolls approximately 700–735 students on a unified 45+ acre campus in Casselberry (suburban Orlando).
Mission and Educational Philosophy
Geneva’s mission is to inspire students to love beauty, think deeply, and pursue Christ’s calling through an extraordinary education and community. The school is not affiliated with any particular denomination while remaining committed to the historic Christian faith. Education is framed as formation of the whole person—academic, spiritual, physical and character-focused—rather than mere information transfer. True education, knowing how to think and developing in character virtues, has the power to shape the culture for generations.
Campus and Facilities
After operating on multiple sites, Geneva completed a multi-year master plan that consolidated the entire student body onto one 45 acre campus. Key milestones include the outdoor athletic complex (2016), upper school (Ingram Hall, 2019), grammar school (2022), and Riley Arena competition gymnasium (2023). The campus is among the largest private school facilities in the area and supports academics, athletics, fine and performing arts, leadership growth and community life in one location.
Academics and Outcomes
Class sizes are intentionally small; student-teacher ratio approximately 10:1.
Most upper-school courses are taught at honors, AP, or dual-credit level. Capstone senior thesis is required.
Athletics, fine & performing arts, clubs, and community service are integral to formation.
