Clark Generations' mission is to be at the forefront of Australia’s efforts in fighting climate change through beneficial forestry management. Our seed conservation program has successfully planted millions of trees and restored many fire-affected zones across Australia. With over 20 years of experience, we are passionate about preserving our forests for future generations. Our beneficial forestry management strategy will preserve and restore Australia’s precious native forests for future generations. The beneficial forestry initiative combines several biodiversity conservation projects that will reduce bushfire risk, protect forest ecosystems and wildlife habitat, generate renewable energy sources, create economic opportunities and contribute to mitigating global warming. Victoria's native forests are one of our most significant natural resources. Unfortunately, they are under threat from a lack of proper forest management and out-of-control fuel load, or biomass, in the understory. The understory is the layer of vegetation between the forest canopy and forest floor and consists of small trees, shrubs and invasive species like blackberries and thistles. Without suitable forest management, the understory can starve native saplings of sunlight and is highly flammable propellent, increasing our risk of catastrophic bushfires - but there is a practical solution. Beneficial forestry management is a long-term solution that can save forests and generate an economic return from harvesting understory. By extracting the understory from high-fire-risk areas, Clark Generations' beneficial forestry management strategy will convert this otherwise deadly biomass into sustainable products like firewood and renewable energy. Clearing dense forest understory reduces the risks and costs of maintenance burning and creates natural firebreaks and migration channels while prompting native species to return.
