Civicboom Information

Civicboom is an ambitious internet start-up. We launched our website and platform in early summer 2011, having been in development since mid-2010. Principally, Civicboom is an audience engagement tool. In other words, it enables organisations to get rich media content from people that have it, in an efficient and manageable way. As a larger, and more attractive selling point it is constructed from an open platform or API [Application Programming Interface]. Essentially an API is a framework that provides both the environment, and the means by which programmers can build software applications. Because Civicboom has its own open plaform, it is customisable - meaning that the simple idea above can be tailored and applied to different industries and uses through the development of an application. Effectively, Civicboom provides a means by which organisations can make their businesses more efficient. This is exciting because there are a large number of ways in which the world could make use of a platform like this. However, at the moment, we are developing Civicboom envisaging journalists, news organisations, publishers and content providers as the primary users - but we are always open to new suggestions, ideas and feedback.
