City Syntax Lab Information

City Syntax is a new interdisciplinary research group at the National University of Singapore (College of Design & Engineering), with roots at MIT, working to reinvent the future of sustainability, technology, and policy for cities. We operate at the nexus of these domains and investigate how built environments impact cities, comfort, and climate. With a view of anticipating future trends in urban science and policy, City Syntax brings together researchers from a myriad of disciplines to work on groundbreaking ideas and real-world pilots, often in partnership with cities, policymakers, industry, and other researchers. Our works have been published in Nature Communications, Applied Energy, Sustainable Cities and Society, etc., and have also won accolades such as Fast Company's World Changing Ideas.
