The City of Yelm is the historic gateway to Mt. Rainier and one of the fastest growing communities in Washington State. Yelm was incorporated in 1924 and the government consists of a Mayor and City Council who are elected at-large to lead the City. A City Administrator is appointed to lead and manage all operations of the City, including: economic development, human resources, public safety, emergency management, public works, IT, municipal court, and a state-of-the-art water reclamation facility.
