As the co-founder of CISO Ally, I started with one clear vision: Make the CISO succeed! No CISO can single-handedly possess all the knowledge, time, and skills needed to tackle today’s escalating cyber challenges. Especially, municipal CISOs face a daunting task—strengthening digital resilience amid exponentially growing threats and increasingly complex regulations. They’re tasked with building robust cybersecurity frameworks, crafting continuity plans, and boosting security awareness. But it takes more than technical expertise—it demands a strategic approach to translate requirements into actionable solutions and secure buy-in and budgets across all organizational levels. With CISO Ally and our strategic partners, I bridge those gaps seamlessly. Together, we empower CISOs, management, and boards to gain confidence in their cybersecurity grip and stay ‘in control.’ Ready for new laws like NIS2 and BIO2, yet future-proof through ongoing maintenance of standards (BIO, CBW, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ENSIA). Our GRC and ISMS tools, equipped with SMARTcontrols as standard, make this practical and effective. Our results speak for themselves: 3 months: Full awareness implementation for 5,000 employees across 7 collaborating municipalities. From tool selection and stakeholder alignment to procurement, portfolio boards, DPIA, legal justification, and SSO integration with MS Active Directory—covering microlearning, mandatory courses, and phishing simulations. 10 months: Delivery of a BCM plan for the Municipality of Papendrecht, including GRC/ISMS implementation, 50 critical processes with continuity statements, a risk register, and valuable additional insights that we gathered along the way to our main goal and produced improvement plans to tackle these. CISO Ally makes municipalities cyber-resilient: fast, strategic, and sustainable. Together, we’re building a secure future.
