cismet GmbH Information

cismet GmbH was started as a spin-off company of the renowned institute EIG (Environmental Informatics Group, Saarland University of Applied Sciences, Germany) in March 2002. Its main business objective is to develop and market state-of-the-art solutions of environmental information and decision support systems and general public information systems. cismet is specialised in the integration of complex heterogeneous information systems, information architectures and large scale infrastructures. Associates of the company are Prof. Dr. Reiner Güttler, Prof. Dr. Ralf Denzer, Thorsten Hell M.Sc. and Sascha Schlobinski M.Sc (the latter two being the CEO's of the company). cismet is drawing from the accumulated expertise of its associates' from two decades. cismet is particularly aiming at the technology transfer and commercialisation of actual RTD results. Currently, the main business of the company is the application and development of municipal information systems in heterogeneous GIS environments, as well as RTD and project management in scientific IT-projects. The staff currently consists of seven employees, associates and freelancers. cismet's development expertise is particularly strong in applying Java and Web-technologies in service oriented architectures.
