WTA is the original game-changer for women’s sport.
Founded in 1973 by the visionary Billie Jean King, WTA was created to build equal opportunities for women in tennis, and we’ve been breaking boundaries ever since. Today we’re the powerhouse of women’s professional sports, uniting athletes in fearless competition and bringing people together through the love of tennis.
The WTA Tour, driven by Mercedes-Benz, shares the thrill of every serve, rally and match point with more than one billion fans around the world. Our ambitions go well beyond the court. We are champions for our 1,600 incredible athletes and drivers of change through advocacy and action for women’s health and empowerment around the world.
Founded in 1868, The All England Lawn Tennis Club is a private members' club and organises and stages The Championships, Wimbledon.
Ever since the first Championships in 1877, we have worked hard to build a tournament that has become the pinnacle of the sport and one that every player wants to win. We are very proud of what we have achieved. We have worked hard. We have kept our heads. And we have upheld the belief that if we are going to do a job, we should do it properly.
We don’t always get it right. But we always strive to do things with our core values of heritage, integrity, respect and excellence in mind. This belief has resulted in a tournament that captivates the world. A place where people value etiquette and fairness, and have come to expect greatness.
So we will continue to evolve in line with our principles, and inspire the world with qualities that we think are not just important in sport, but in life.
In Pursuit of Greatness.
