CIGEST - Instituto Superior de Gestão Information

CIGEST is name for the Business Management R&D Center and its part of ISG – Business & Economics School. ISG was the first university to become a partner of the Portuguese Business Council for Sustainable Development, with the aim to become a reference in sustainability and innovation. The CIGEST has been gradually integrated in R&D&I and knowledge transfer networks and associations, stimulating partnerships at national and international level, either with government entities (e.g. Government of Mozambique), professional associations (e.g. Order of Biologists), non-governmental organizations (e.g. Quercus ANCN), research networks (e.g. HUMANIST-Human-centered Design for Information Society Technologies), research centers (e.g. SENSU-Strategic Approaches to Environment and Sustainability research group, IST), and both SME’s and corporations. Within CIGEST, the area of Environment and Sustainability has the main objective of developing cross-sectorial projects that promote applied sustainability in real scenarios. Our commitment is to develop projects and programs and to provide training, skills and knowledge in the multiple fields of sustainability, encourage debate and innovative approaches and transmit these values to all the researchers, lecturers and students.
