Cider Mountain was originally built as a destination recording studio. Owner Chris Phillips began working with renowned studio designer Chris Pelonis (link) in 1999, to design the studio from the ground up. According to Pelonis, "At Cider Mountain, we were able to create a generous, spacious tracking room with very high ceilings and a really involved trapping and diffusion system. The result was a great sounding live room and several excellent iso rooms. Phillips rounded it out with great mics, the finest vintage and new gear, and comfortable lodging. Some terrific artists have recorded here (some you know, and some you should!) Excellent recordings are still being made back in the studio using Pro-Tools as well as terrific outboard gear, instruments and mics in acoustically superior rooms. But in recent years Cider Mountain has changed. We've downsized the studio by selling the big API mixing board. We've expanded and improved the lodging, which allows the building to be used for different purposes, including family reunions, corporate retreats and other group getaways. Our commitment to your comfort hasn't changed. Our goal for Cider Mountain has always been to provide a place where YOUR goals can be realized. YOUR music made, YOUR relationships strengthened, YOUR family's perfect reunion accomplished. Whether your goal is to gather for art, rest, work, or family fun, a week at Cider Mountain is still YOUR week, and that will never change.
