The Deep Foods Group of Companies was founded by the Amin family matriarch, Bhagwati Amin, in 1977 and is now owned and operated by three generations of the Amin family. Today, Deep Foods is the leader in Indian cuisine in North America and beyond, with operations in the US, Canada, India and Australia. Our over 4,000 employees worldwide make, deliver and commercialize frozen meals, breads and appetizers as well as snacks, beverages, dairy and pantry essentials.
Our brands include Bansi®, Babu’s®, Bhagwati’s®, Deep, Deep Indian Kitchen®, Hot Mix®, Mirch Masala®, Reena’s®, and Udupi.® Since 1977, we have had one simple purpose: to share all of India through made-from-scratch, authentically crafted food and drinks. As a family-owned-and-operated company, it’s our mission that our food not only taste good but also do good. That’s why every purchase of our products benefits the Deepkiran Foundation, which helps provide access to education for underprivileged children in rural India. You can find our more than 1,200 products in stores across the ethnic, natural, conventional, club, drug, mass and ecommerce retail channels.
WHO WE ARE
For over 25 years, Tasty Bite® has been making fast, flavorful and all natural ethnic food - including entrees, sauces and rices - to delight consumers. And since we believe that good food shouldn't come at the expense of people or the planet, we proudly give back to the community and environment we operate in.
THE FARMS AND OUR COMMUNITY
The produce that ends up in our Tasty Bite® products is grown on local farms, where we also teach organic and sustainable farming techniques to our community of farmers. In our own small way, we do all we can to support the community around us with scholarship funds for our employees’ children and, when needed, local and international disaster relief.
THE ENVIRONMENT
We believe that making making food tasty and fast shouldn’t come at the expense of the planet. That’s why 80% of the energy used to make Tasty Bite comes from renewable energy sources. Sugarcane waste, widely available in the region, is our primary source of renewable energy and we harvest rainwater to recharge the groundwater supplies in our area.
