Now part of Chrome (Services) Ltd. Material Studio is a creative and design-focused studio whose services extend from architectural design into interiors and landscape consultancy. We work methodically through the architectural process, relying on a balance of intelligence and intuition to reach exceptional outcomes. Our studio has a unique design methodology. We delight in the process of making architecture and produce models, drawings, collages and visualisations to explain concepts and illustrate ideas. Material Studio practices from a strong position. Our work is rhythmic, rigorous and materially expressive, and relies on palettes of textured, natural materials that feel grounded in their place, culture and context. We craft spaces with light, scale and volume, and produce architecture that is sculptural and calm. Our buildings are atmospheric and yet approachable, and make people feel inspired, delighted and welcomed. Our designers pride themselves on creating a distinctive aesthetic that is contemporary in its proportions and detail while drawing on a language of craftsmanship, and understanding of materials.
