Chitwood Family Farm Information

Our Family, Our Farm. We're Jon and Tricia Chitwood Jon is the Chief Beekeeper and Business Manager of The Farm. He earned his degree from the University of Kansas in Communications. He's now communicating with bees and Mother Earth. In 2009 Jon completed the Kauffman foundation's FastTrac course in entrepreneurship. Jon is currently pursuing a master beekeeping certificate. As part of this effort, he completed the master beekeeping course at the University of Nebraska in 2010. The education does not stop. Jon will attend the University of Nebraska's queen rearing course this summer. Tricia is the Chief Wordsmith and Child Wrangler. While her BA from KU is in Political Science and French, she hopes to apply her GT (green thumb) to The Farm and expand the flower and vegetable quotient. The kids include Amelia, Evan, Reece and Matalyn. As The Farm to expands, our hope is that each child will be able to find something they enjoy to add to the family farm's offerings
