Chisholm Information

Chisholm was incorporated in August 1983 as a research and development company with a focus on portable technology. In 1984 the company completed a prototype of the world's first IBM compatible battery operated personal computer and licensed the technology to Olivetti Corporation. In 1985 Chisholm developed the world's first LCD projection panel. The technology was licensed to Telex Communications in 1986 and later that year the digital LCD projection market began. From 1986 to 1988 Chisholm worked with Telex to produce a family of projection products. In 1989 Chisholm began to manufacture and market its own line of projection products and introduced electronic annotation to the projection industry. As an IBM Business Partner, Chisholm's primary focus was the K-12 education market. From 1990 through 1998 Chisholm developed projectors and annotation devices for the business, education and home entertainment markets selling products through a worldwide network of audio/visual dealers. With the emergence of the Internet as an information resource, Chisholm embarked on the development of ProjectorCentral.com in 1998 with the purpose of educating people on projection technology and helping them find a suitable projector for their needs. In 2005 Chisholm expanded its coverage to include other large image displays and created a community for people to share information. Today the Chisholm Network covers all large area video displays providing services to buyers, sellers and manufacturers.
