China Economic & Strategy Initiative Information

The China Economic and Strategy Initiative (CESI) is a nonprofit research organization committed to promoting American values and supporting the United States’ efforts to counter China’s malign actions and uphold a free and open system. The United States has begun to rapidly evolve its policy on China with questions of how it must posture itself to compete long term across the diplomatic, defense, and economic arenas. CESI’s core mission is to ensure that policymakers are equipped with the knowledge and “tool kit” necessary to develop a comprehensive and actionable strategy to compete with China. CESI was founded in 2022 and is led by the Honorable Randall Schriver as Chairman, and Dan Blumenthal as Vice Chairman. The organization operates under the auspices of the Project 2049 Institute and is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization committed to independent and nonpartisan research.
