Chimaera Information

We are Chimaera — an adventurous collective of artists from the worlds of contemporary dance, music, film and graphic arts. Based in Belgium, we create interdisciplinary performances inspired by our environment, society, and each other. We believe art is a space of encounter — between disciplines, generations, and between artist and audience. Through live music, movement and visual storytelling, we bring to light the voices and stories that often remain unseen. Street Chronicles, our debut production, is a layered and poetic reflection on public space, identity and expression. Two dancers move between musicians, projections and masks, inspired by real-life street stories collected through fieldwork in Antwerp and Brussels. The soundtrack blends classical string quartet with electric guitar, percussion, voice and electronics — featuring music by Caroline Shaw, Ligeti, Kian Ravaei, Moondog, and original compositions. In 2024, Chimaera performed at: – Kavka, Antwerp – KSMKA – Zomerfabriek Since October 2024, Chimaera is in residence at Merksemdok (2024–2026) – a place that offers time and space to grow, experiment and connect with local communities.
