Children's Classic Concerts Information

Children's Classic Concerts (registered Scottish Charity SCO22841, and charity name "The Children's Music Foundation in Scotland") is the only company in Scotland dedicated to creating orchestral concerts for children. The acknowledged experts in the field, we have delivered concerts and education projects to an average of 15,000 patrons each year since our foundation in 1994. Our core purpose is threefold: exposure, entertainment and education - achieved through high-quality first experiences of live music, which are principally orchestral, but which also explore other traditions and genres. Educational and social benefits include learning to listen, improved concentration, the ability to cooperate with others, increased confidence and better self-esteem. Our work also complements Youth Music Initiative projects by inspiring children to access instrumental teaching and by sustaining their progress. Children's Classic Concerts is also dedicated to promoting excellence and developing audiences for the future, which we do by working with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the best ensembles in Scotland, allowing them to reach new patrons for their own work. CCC is also an important commissioner of new music for young audiences and has added works by major Scottish composers Sally Beamish, Savourna Stevenson and Edward McGuire to the repertoire.
