The mission of the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired is to prepare young children with visual impairments, including those with multiple disabilities, to reach their highest potential in the sighted world. Our doors are open for any infant to school-age child whose visual impairment is significant enough to adversely affect his or her educational performance. Children and their parents come here to discover a truly unique, positive environment with innovative and stimulating programs customized for each student. Last year we served 331 students from 24 counties within a 150-mile-radius of Kansas City, Mo. If you know the Trolley Run, you know CCVI. The run is CCVI's largest annual fundraiser and one of the largest timed four-mile runs in the country. The race takes place the last Sunday in April and follows along Kansas City's Trolley Track Trail from Waldo to the Country Club Plaza.
