Child Inc, founded in 1972, is a nonprofit organization and the Head Start provider for Travis County. For over five decades, we have prepared more than 50,000 preschool children and their families to succeed in school and in life. We provide low-income families with high-quality early childhood education and a full range of comprehensive services—including mental health support, disabilities services, nutrition, medical and dental care, social services, and parent engagement activities. Our mission is to provide high-quality education and comprehensive support services for children and their families while promoting personal and social responsibility in the communities we serve.
