Child & Family Connections improves the lives of families living with parental mental illness in meaningful ways—through peer-informed education, advocacy, and support. When nine-year-old Charlotte asked to meet other kids who have a parent with a mental health condition, it was a milestone in a journey that began a decade earlier with her father's institutionalization, destitution, and near death from his bipolar disorder. With support from the Mental Health Association and the City of Philadelphia, they co-founded Child & Family Connections, Inc., the first nonprofit dedicated exclusively to families living with parental mental illness. CFC provides pragmatic, community-based solutions that are always free of charge for participants. Over 90% of our funding goes directly to programming. We are privileged to help families heal as Charlotte's request continues to transform lives
