We went from selling everyone’s favorite Crunchy Tacos on the West Coast to a global brand with 8,200+ restaurants, 350 franchise organizations, that serve 42+ million fans each week around the globe. Our burrito obsession started in San Francisco, where we grew up devouring foil-wrapped deliciousness from legendary spots like Taqueria Cancun, El Farolito, and Pancho Villa. These neighbourhood taquerias taught us what a proper burrito should be – a warm flour tortilla stuffed with authentic rice and beans, grilled meats, fresh salsas and guac, and Monterey Jack cheese -
all the fixings to hit the spot.
Landing in London in 2003, we searched high and low for authentic tacos and burritos. But nothing came close to the humble neighbourhood taquerias we grew up with. So we decided to bring a piece of San Francisco to the UK by making great Mexican food at home for our friends until they persuaded us to open our first Tortilla.
These days, we’re bringing that California street food magic to your neighbourhood - the kind of taquerias we loved back home, with fresh ingredients, friendly vibes, and prices that won’t make you wince.
