Chicago Semiconductor was founded to capitalize on new business opportunities within the semiconductor industry, particularly two-dimensional (2D) substrates used for the next generation manufacturing of semiconductor applications. Chicago Semiconductor has achieved a unique process to build two-dimensional layers of Arsenene and Silicene Arsenene (AeOs) and Silicene (SeOS) on Silicon substrates- a worldwide first. Hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent by corporations, governments and universities to achieve what weve successful done. Implications of fabricating Arsenene and Silicene on semiconductor substrates have huge consequences in microelectronics and materials science applications. 2D layers of AeOS and SeOS represent a major evolutionary step on the path to semiconductor substrates. In the near-term for example, AeOS offers a factor of five in performance improvement for Silicon-based CdTe thin film detectors. In the longer term, AeOS and SeOS will enable a new era in semiconductor manufacturing. Substantial improvements in circuit density, power efficiency and performance will increase the speed and endurance of next-generation systems, while lowering cost and size.
