"Teaching Life Skills Through Chess" - making a difference in children's lives throughout the NW and the world! Chess4Life LLC was founded in 2006 by National Master Elliott Neff after 18 years of coaching students in the game of chess. Through his experiences, Elliott recognized that hidden within the game where valuable life lessons and crucial skills for development and success. Lessons such as, the value of perseverance through adversity and the priceless experience of achievement after putting in consistent effort. Since the beginning, Chess4Life Coaches have been guided by Elliott and other expert instructors on the value of encouraging students in a positive manner, and have shared with each of their students the qualities the game contains. Qualities like: sportsmanship, good decision making, patience, planning, and learning from one's mistakes. The game itself has also been proven to improve critical thinking skills, math competency, English skills, concentration, and spatial reasoning. Chess4Life has held close to Elliott's mission through the years, and is now a premier provider of after-school chess programs, private lessons, summer camps, tournaments, after-school enrichment programs and much more!
