I am an Independent Contractor with the Cherry Creek Collective for Mental Health and am also a current Doctoral (PsyD.) student at the University of Denver currently specializing in Substance-Use, Early Childhood Mental Health Psychology, and Psychodynamic Theory. Thank you for stopping by! It takes courage to reach out to a complete stranger for help with your personal journey. I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist and a trauma therapist. My approach to counseling is validating that you know yourself best and my role is to help you understand the Why of things. There is a very close connection between brain and body which guides us through life. Recognizing what is going on and having the tools to work it out is life changing in an amazing way! I am an Air Force veteran trained to work with our military and their families. I also am a trauma informed therapist for our first responders and their families. My approach to therapy is very systemic. This means I look at all the systems you are connected to and become curious on how they interact with the problem we are working on. People are not the Problem, rather people have Problems that demand their attention. Our systems include family, friends, co-workers, and family members that may no longer be with us. I look at generational legacies that are handed down from generation to generation that may be giving power to the problem at hand. I utilize various modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) somatic interventions, and Sandtray. I am gentle in my approach and tend to ask many questions to clarify thoughts to grow understanding. We are complicated as human beings and have many parts guiding us through life.
