Cheng Hsin General Hospital Information

After the mission at that very time was completed, in order to further extended Madame Chiang Kai-shek's deep love in rescuing people, in 1991 the hospital successfully transformed into an overall general hospital to provide the best medical care to people. One example is our worldwide well-known Heart Centre. Under the leadership of Director Jeng Wei, our hospital is known to have the highest heart transplant success rate among the nation, and also second to none in Asia. Under the leadership of our Chairman, Cecilia Y. Koo, the National Women's League views the caring for disadvantaged groups with considerable attention. As a result the NWL Foundation for The Hearing Impaired was eventually founded. Furthermore in 2004, the League supported Cheng Hsin to establish the Auditory Medical Center, which gave hearing-impaired children the chance to normally hear once again. In recent years, the love was further extended to Mainland China to care hearing-impaired children who required healthcare, whether from Taiwan or Mainland China. In addition, as Former Superintendent Jorn-hon Liu highly concerned the basic medical needs in local communities, the hospital worked with the primary care clinics in Shilin, Shipai, Beitou, Luchou, and Bali left bank to establish a total of five community health groups since 2003. As the above measure looks after the people's health in the communities, it was highly praised by the local people and medical practitioners. Cheng Hsin was even listed as an outstanding regional teaching hospital. Cheng Hsin has also developed a close education-cooperation relation with Yang-Ming University and National Defense Medical Center, where many of our physicians also have instructing positions at the above two institutes. In addition, having the full support of the National Women's League and Cheng Hsin's Board, Cheng Hsin General Hospital not only has the most advanced medical equipment such as the da Vinci surgical robot 512CT tomography, Taiwan's first magnetic navigation cardiac catheterization and complex surgical room, but also successively built the Health Building and Second Medical Building. As we now have advanced hardware equipment as basis, in the future we shall greatly work with Taipei Veterans General Hospital. Both sides shall strengthen personnel exchange, cooperation in medical technology, medical research and personnel training. These shall be the indicators to determine if Cheng Hsin has reached another new milestone. As we face the continuous changes of our current National Health Insurance System, which insurance items become less and less, the operation of a hospital has become more difficult. However, I believe that under the outstanding leadership of the Board and the support from everyone at Cheng Hsin, we are able to still inherit the past and usher the future - we shall continue our research and innovation for adhering high quality healthcare. Finally, I want to encourage everyone in our big Cheng Hsin family to uphold the founding ideas of Madame Chiang - having a "charitable heart" and "service passion".
