Charter Flight Network Information

Our Charter Flight Network is made up of numerous professional air charter airlines who operate a wide variety of float aircraft such as piston powered Cessna, Beaver and Otter as well as turbine powered Cessna Caravan and turbine single engine or twin engine otters. Float plane services are obviously seasonal, however many of these airlines change over to ski equipment in the winter months. Many float planes are also amphibious which allow them to land on either land or water. Our largest concentration of float plane operators are located in Canada, however we also have network members who operate float planes in Alaska and select regions of the USA. Sportsmen taking hunting and fishing trips make up the most popular use for float planes. Each year thousands of sportsmen plan trips to remote hunting and fishing lodges and outposts throughout Canada and Alaska for a week of exceptional wilderness hunting and fishing. In addition to sportsmen, float planes across the country are used by geological and mineral exploration firms, trappers, contractors and residents of northern and remote communities.
