Charles Sherrod Community Development Organization is a nonprofit striving to foster hope, economic opportunity, and racial cooperation in Southwest Georgia by supporting agricultural entrepreneurship, reducing food insecurity, and reversing land loss in African-American families. Our mission is to advance the legacy of our namesake, Charles Sherrod, an activist in the Civil Rights Movement, who served as the first director and field secretary for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating committee for Southwest Georgia.
