Illustrations can be great concept and marketing tools to communicate design ideas, give clients a full visualization of spaces, and provide a comprehensive look at what to expect during the construction phase. While computer renderings have become increasingly popular, Chapter 16 Studio still believes in the power of hand drawing. Using digital hand drawing, we combine both the advantages of the digital medium with the aesthetic benefits of hand rendering. Our rendering uses traditional watercolor techniques on the computer, thus creating a work that stays truer to the original character of the design and has a stronger impact. Our backgrounds in both architecture and landscape architecture give us a deeper understanding of not only the design but also the process and how to effectively communicate to make sure all of our clients’ needs are met.
