Challenging Solutions Information

Our mission is to redefine accessibility by combining revolutionary technology with user's input to provide a new concept of mobility devices, for an unparalleled experience, higher independence and freedom to move for people who need mobility assistance. Challenging Solutions is the materialization of an idea, bringing innovation to accessibility, from a new perspective, breaking the current paradigm, to provide unparalleled freedom to move for people with no or low mobility from the waist down. This project was started by Ernesto Diaz-Flores, a scientist and assistant adjunct professor, who a few years ago had an accident that put temporary limitations in his mobility, realizing the obstacles that have to face people who are in crutches or in wheelchairs. He then started envisioning a mobility device that will allow people to sit and stand while being compact and highly maneouverable. A device that will give access to almost any place. In 2014 he decided to take a step forward and looked for a mechatronics engineer, and found Wesley, and searched for a business analyst and found Astrid Collonnier. Together they started the company, and set out to bring to fruition the concept of a revolutionary mobility device, a new concept that doesn’t follow the evolution of wheelchairs but instead bring a revolution in the field of accessibility. Now the company host an interdisciplinary team, that includes, physical therapists, graphic and industrial designers, engineers, business developers and psychologists.
