Challenger Filtration Information

Challenger Pacific Pty. Ltd. was founded in 1991 by Waden International Pty. Ltd. A wholly owned Australian Family Company which in turn was founded by the Waden Family way back in 1968. The company has diversified over the years into importing, manufacturing, research and development, rentals, aquarium filtration, retailing inc. pool equipment and chemical supplies etc. Mark, (the youngest son of John & Kathleen Waden) who has just turned 30 this year has made numerous trips overseas (6 to be exact) including two to the United States to further his vast experience in Drinking Water Filtration & Purification. Some of his achievements include:In 1997, Mark was appointed to the 'World Assembly Division' of the International Water Quality Association as a representative in Australia. In 1999, Mark was appointed to the 'Australian Standards Committee' in an advisory capacity on water filtration. Mark was instrumental in drafting changes to AS/NZS 3497:1998 (Drinking Water Treatment Units - Plumbing Requirements) which are now necessary requirements for legal plumbing installations. With both of the above, he was the youngest representative in each instance. Amongst some of Mark's other achievements, he has single handedly designed and built the Seven Stage Commercial Purification System that produces Gourmet Water, simply the purest drinking water in Australia, if not the world! Mark can also take full credit for designing the range of domestic water filters under the brand name of 'Challenger' and the proprietary '4 Stage Fresh Water & Marine Aquarium Filter System'.
