Challenge Mountain Information

Challenge Mountain is a Northern Michigan nonprofit dedicated to removing barriers and creating inclusive opportunities for individuals living with disabilities. Through adaptive recreation, social activities, and community experiences, Challenge Mountain helps people of all ages and abilities build confidence, strengthen independence, develop friendships, and experience a greater sense of belonging. Programs are designed for individuals living with physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities, with adaptive equipment and personalized support available when needed. Activities such as skiing, cycling, and community outings give participants the opportunity to explore new experiences, connect with others, and enjoy meaningful time with family and friends. Every program is centered on having fun while encouraging positive and hopeful expectations for the future. Challenge Mountain is more than a participant experience. Volunteers, staff members, families, friends, and community partners all play an important role in making each activity possible. Together, they create a welcoming environment where individuals are supported, included, and celebrated. As a nonprofit serving Northern Michigan, Challenge Mountain believes that recreation should be accessible to everyone.
