I was brought in to help turn the company around. By moving cFares to a dual cloud platform, we knocked 90% off our hosting costs. We use Google AppEngine and Amazon Web Services. Instead of 3 ajax libraries, we are only using one that is hosted by Google. This cut our bandwidth by 50% and shaved 10 seconds off the page load time. By switching 2 analytics packages for 1 free one, we saved $5000 per month and were able to track revenue to traffic sources. Most of the development team is outsourced in India.
