Centre for Indigenous Architecture (CFIA) consults, constructs and manages Cottages and Villas built using indigenous architectural principles and building techniques. Our motto: HOLISTIC ARCHITECTURE FOR WELLNESS. CFIA was founded to address and serve the growing interest in the cost and health benefits of indigenous architecture. This is effectively accomplished by the use of rejuvenating, earthy elements of Heritage construction techniques, complemented by contemporary technology and embellished with modern concepts of utility and decor. This is in consonance with our belief that it is important to switch back to eco-friendly, energy-efficient, cost-effective and sustainable ways of construction. Rammed Earth Foundations & Walls, Exposed Brick Walls, Roofing styles such as Madras Terrace are among some of the native techniques employed. Importance is given to local labour and local material - with minimum use of industrial products like Cement, Steel and Paint. We conserve Wood by using old timber pillars, while also opting for reusable concrete rafters etc (avoiding use of timber).
