The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) is a premier Business School which has earned a reputation for excellence in academic activities and industry interactions. It holds the 3rd position among management institutes as per the NIRF India Rankings 2023: Management. It is also recognized as the second most innovative educational institution under the CFIs (non-technical) category in the ARIIA rankings, the only IIM to feature in the ARIIA top rankings. It is also globally accredited by EQUIS (EFMD) and AMBA (UK). The Institute was set up by the Government of India, in collaboration with the State Government of Kerala, as the 5th Indian Institute of Management. It aims to emerge as an internationally reckoned management centre with the motto of 'Globalizing Indian Thought.' It conducts an array of academic activities involving research, teaching, training, consulting, and intellectual infrastructure development to help improve the management systems globally. It emphasizes the development of analytical skills while gracefully balancing global and cross-cultural issues to mold business leaders into assets for society and maintain the equilibrium between business and social concerns. It strives to inculcate perspective building, teamwork, co-operation, and harmony among its stakeholders. IIMK, along with its flagship PGP programme, also has a PGP Finance program and a PGP Liberal Studies & Management programme, which it commenced in 2020. It also offers FPM, MDP, and FDP programmes and an EPGP programme that it runs in its satellite campus in Kochi. Moreover, IIMK started the Laboratory for Innovation, Venturing and Entrepreneurship (LIVE) in June 2016. The centre is envisioned to function as a business incubator with the purpose of creating a National Centre of Excellence to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. Currently, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee is the director of the Institute.

The Tata Institute of Social Science(TISS) is a premier institute of Social Work in India. It was established in 1936 and was recognized as a Deemed University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India in the year 1964. In December 2011, Tata Institute of Social Sciences set up the School of Vocational Education(SVE) to provide immediate and definite interventions to improve the lives of the disadvantaged and marginalized youth, especially who are excluded by the formal school education system, through appropriate vocational training programmes. SVE has been set up with a vision of creating an ecosystem that would bring back the dignity of labor for blue collar streams of work and create sustainable sources of income for the marginalized youth in the country. The School has been incorporated to spearhead the Vocational Training envisaged in the initiative proposed by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India whereby TISS has been selected as nodal point to implement the said initiative. Jawaharlal Nehru University is the foremost university in India, and a world-renowned centre for teaching and research established by an act of Parliament in 1966. Ranked number one in India by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a Grade Point of 3.91 (on a scale of 4), JNU was ranked no 3 among all universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Government of India, in 2016 and no. 2 in the years 2017-2020. JNU also received the Best University Award from the President of India in 2017. Several academic Centres of the university have been declared by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to be ‘Centres of Excellence’. JNU itself has been given the status of the ‘University of Excellence’ by the UGC. At present there are ten Schools and four Special Centres in the University. The National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020 rankings for higher education institutes has announced JNU as the 2nd best University and 8th best institute in overall ranking in India.
