Brewery Ommegang is a Belgian brewery located near Cooperstown, New York that specializes in Belgian-style ales. Based on traditional Belgian farmhouse architecture and set on a former hop farm in upstate New York, Brewery Ommegang was born with the philosophy that truly unique ales must be built from the ground up. Beyond Words! Converted from the historic former Portland Press Herald building, The Press Hotel draws inspiration from the craft of its former inhabitants. Each guestroom has been designed with elements of a 1920s writer’s office, including a vintage-styled journalist desk and playful newsroom references throughout. The lobby bar, dubbed the Inkwell, features industry-inspired décor and serves up handcrafted classic cocktails. Taking inspiration from 1920s writer’s offices, each of the hotel’s exquisite 110 guest rooms and suites feature a vintage-styled journalist desk, wood floors with herringbone area rug, and 100% local artwork, including a woven wall tapestry by Angela Adams. The historic building boasts oversized windows in every guest-room, providing natural light and fresh Maine air during your stay. Playful newsroom references abound, including thought-provoking quotes and occasional one-liners in the most unexpected places. Union Restaurant, is located within The Press Hotel. Tony DiMillo opened his first restaurant, "Anthony's" in 1954 on Fore Street where he coined the slogan, "The clams you eat here today slept last night in Casco Bay." In 1960, with development changing the look of Fore Street, Tony moved Anthony's to Center Street. In 1965, Tony opened "DiMillo's on the Waterfront," just across the street from where it sits now. DiMillo's quickly became one of Portland's most popular restaurants, as people came from all over the country to sample DiMillo's famous lobster dinners. In 1978, Tony purchased the dilapidated Long Wharf, built "DiMillo's Marina," and quickly filled all 120 slips. In December 1982, "DiMillo's Floating Restaurant" opened her doors and became the only floating restaurant on the upper East Coast. Today, Tony's wife, sisters and sons continue to maintain the high standards he established over 40 years ago. There is always a DiMillo on board.
