This year, Centers enters its 50th year and has much to celebrate. Thousands of people depend on Centers every day to build their personal capacities, enter substantial employment, and strengthen their families. Among other initiatives focused on violence prevention, we are a leading South Side partner in READI to serve individuals with high exposure to violence and trauma, and we have expanded our counseling and youth development services. Our signature day care centers nurture young children and empower families. We operate safe, well-appointed centers that support the care and development of infants and young children, open for extended hours to respond to family need. Centers is a Headstart and Early Headstart provider. We are a community anchor at a time of neighborhood re-investment. Since its founding years, Centers has been most closely identified with our origins in Bronzeville - still home to our headquarters and the location of many of our signature programs. Designated last year by Mayor Lightfoot as one of ten "Invest South/West Communities," Bronzeville is home to five facilities owned by Centers. Centers has a deep understanding of the gaps that need to be filled in our communities, and we ...
