Located at the American University Washington College of Law (WCL), the Center on International Commercial Arbitration offers a crossroads for international business and law by providing a high-level academic forum for exchanging ideas, educating students and training practitioners on rising issues in arbitration. Directed by Horacio A. Grigera Naón, an independent international arbitrator and former secretary general of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Center’s rigorous academic offerings and activities focus on the theory and practice of international arbitration, including the resolution of international economic disputes. Every year, the Center on International Commercial Arbitration manages a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, specialized course offerings, workshops, networking events, internships, professional development programming, research and publication opportunities. We also host three world-renowned programs: the Summer Program on International Commercial Arbitration, the Annual Seminar on International Commercial Arbitration and the Annual Lecture on International Arbitration. Held by leading practitioners and arbitrators, these events provide a great atmosphere for the discussion of rising topics in the field, as well as information on global arbitration institutions. Additionally, the Center features courses in English and Spanish and offers both academic and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit.
