The Center for Financial Empowerment is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to break the cycle of generational poverty and create more stable communities through youth financial education. We partner with schools and community organizations in Southern California and Southern Nevada to offer financial capability programs, giving young people the power to make better financial choices and achieve an improved quality of life. Founded in 2005 by SCE Federal Credit Union, the CFE carries out the Credit Union's vision to provide much-needed financial education to the next generation of members. This partnership offers a unique, big-picture solution for the area's disadvantaged and immigrant youth: they can learn relevant, actionable economic skills, and receive access to affordable deposit accounts, loans and tools to put their learned skills into action. Our programs empower youth to make smarter financial choices, build wise habits, and enjoy lifelong financial stability.
