Centennial Pipeline LLC Information

Centennial Pipeline LLC provides a safe, efficient and reliable supply of Gulf Coast products to the Midwest market. Centennial is a 50/50 joint venture between Marathon Petroleum Company LP (MPC) and Texas Eastern Products Pipeline Company, LLC, (TEPPCO). Centennial originates at the TEPPCO tank farm in Beaumont, Texas, and extends into the Midwest to Bourbon, Ill. Centennial has the ability to move 210,000 barrels per day of refined products. A 795-mile pipeline, Centennial began operation in 2002 after a 26-inch diameter natural gas line from Longville, La. into Bourbon was converted to refined light product service. At the same time, a new 24-inch diameter line was constructed from Beaumont to connect to the existing 26-inch diameter line at Longville. The Centennial tank farm at Creal Springs, Ill. stores more than two million barrels of gasoline, diesel and jet fuels utilizing 16 drain dry tanks. Centennials mainline system and TEPPCOs mainline systems originating in Beaumont deliver products into Creal Springs and re-originate either north on Centennial or east on TEPPCOs existing mainline system to the Illinois, Indiana and Ohio markets. Centennial operates as an open stock system primarily moving fungible refined light products with the capability of moving segregated products in accordance with rules and regulations. Centennial accepts light end feedstocks, but does not have the capability of accommodating liquefied petroleum gases. The system runs on ten day cycles and uses product codes and batch codes similar to those used on the TEPPCO system. The shipper nominates product for movement under joint tariffs filed by TEPPCO. Centennial offers incentive rates requiring the shipper to sign a separate contract. Centennial incorporates a 13-day guarantee in which the shipper will be compensated if the average transit time from the USGC, to and through the Creal Springs tank farm, exceeds 13 days.
