CENIT_Research Information

The Center for Innovation in Transport (CENIT) is a research group of the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE). CENIT was created in 2001 as a public consortium between the Government of Catalonia (Departament de Territori i Sostenibilitat) and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-Barcelona Tech (UPC) to centralize expertise in transportation innovation. CENIT became a member of CIMNE in 2017. CENIT conducts research in transportation and logistics and is a thought leader on the mobility issues currently influencing our society. Our work areas are include Urban Mobility, Port Logistics and Maritime Transport, and Transport Infrastructure Management with an emphasis on transport economics, operations research, travel behavior, sustainability, transport policy, demand analysis, and ICT.
