Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is at the epicenter of a decarbonized future. Whether its eliminating emissions from hard-to-abate industrial sectors, new decarbonized power generation for data centers, or engineered climate solutions (e.g., carbon dioxide removal), geologic carbon storage is needed in the gigatons. We are expanding the global feasible range where CCS is possible by opening up an entirely new rock type for subsurface storage. Mafic rock formations are a viable storage resource due to their complementary geographic distribution with conventional storage reservoirs (e.g., saline aquifers) and their ability to mineralize injected CO₂. Mineralization lowers risk and liability for operators, and reduces the need for costly long-term monitoring. Our technology adapts proven oil and gas techniques for scalable and low-cost carbon storage in mafic/ultramafic formations—doubling the potential global footprint of CO₂ storage. Our technology suite enables emitters to access these resources, derisk project development, and optimize project operations. We believe CCS is the fastest and most efficient path to a decarbonized future at climate-relevant scale.
