Kimia Farma merupakan pioner dalam industri farmasi Indonesia. Cikal bakal perusahaan dapat dirunut balik ke tahun 1917, ketika NV Chemicalien Handle Rathkamp & Co., perusahaan farmasi pertama di Hindia Timur, didirikan.
